Beloved Actress Valerie Bertinelli to Be Celebrity Grand Marshal Of 1st Ever 22nd Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade In Downtown Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, March 17

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Valerie Bertinelli, the beloved star of the classic show “One Day at a Time,” an Emmy Award-winning host, a New York Times best-selling author, spokesperson, and entrepreneur, will be the Celebrity Grand Marshal March 17 for the First Ever 22nd Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade® in downtown Hot Springs.

The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade® features a zany array of floats, marching bands, Irish Elvis impersonators, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, wacky costumed groups, and guest celebrities that cover the 98-foot parade route.

“Valerie Bertinelli will be a great grand marshal for our gigantic, little parade,” Visit Hot Springs CEO and parade founder Steve Arrison said. “She appeals to just about everyone, from those who watched her as a youngster on ‘One Day at a Time’ to those who came to know her as a best-selling author of cookbooks to those who saw her on the hit show ‘Hot in Cleveland.’”

“Valerie will join our parade starter Flavor Flav to make this one of our best celebrity combos in recent memory,” Arrison said.
The parade, which covers the 98-foot distance of Bridge Street, the World’s Shortest Street in everyday use, annually brings more than 30,000 fun-loving fans to Hot Springs’ historic downtown for an evening of free wacky fun and music.

Valerie Bertinelli’s long and celebrated career includes being an equally beloved actress, Emmy Award-winning host, New York Times best-selling author, spokesperson, and entrepreneur.

A two-time Golden Globe® winner, Valerie landed her big break at age 14 as Barbara Cooper on “One Day At A Time,” Norman Lear’s 1975 acclaimed series about a divorced mother raising her two daughters. The series ran on CBS for nine years, ending in 1984.

As one of Hollywood’s brightest young talents, Valerie helped develop, produce, and star in many highly rated TV movies and stayed extremely busy as one of primetime’s go-to actresses for movies and mini-series. Her other forays into the television series world include starring for two years on the hit series “Touched By an Angel” and TV Land’s hit sitcom “Hot in Cleveland”
for six years.

Valerie most recently starred in her own show on Food Network entitled Valerie’s Home Cooking, where she received two Daytime Emmy awards for ‘Outstanding Culinary Program’ and ‘Outstanding Culinary Host’. Valerie also starred in “Kids Baking Championship” alongside Duff Goldman.

Valerie recently released her New York Times best-selling cookbook Indulge. Valerie’s best and favorite production is her son, Wolfgang, who achieved his own fame as the bassist for the legendary rock group Van Halen on its 2007-2008 North American Tour and for his own Grammy-nominated band, Mammoth WVH.
